Planning Our Music Video.

Timings for our music video and initial ideas:

This is a copy of our initial ideas for our music video, we had a brainstorm as a group and came up with places we wanted to film and different scenes we wanted to use. We also listened to our track and divided up the time so we knew what to shoot and how long it had to be. Our track is 2.14 minutes long, so we need footage that lasts that long.

These are our characters for our music video, as the video is a story about a boy who likes a girl, and he follers her until she likes him too, we decided to get Katie and Martin to be our two main leads, as they are already a couple, we felt that this would make them more relaxed when acting and that it would look better on screen.

We also decided that Sarah and I should have the two mini roles of the other two girls, as this meant less hassle when trying to organise when to film.

We plan to film in Tynemouth and Monkseaton, both of which are small villages by the coast, they both have an old fashioned feel which fits in with our theme and genre of our music video.

We plan to shoot shots in green, leafy areas to promote a healthy, greener way of life, setting a more positive setting for our audience.

This storyboard shows a thumbnail sketch of way happens in each shot/scene. The video starts off with a fire, it then cuts to our male lead burning 2 photographs of 2 different girls, and keeping the third photograph. The video then shows the 3 girls from the photographs at different stages of getting ready in the morning. The video then changes from indoors to outdoors, as the boy sits on a bench, in Victoria Park, as the girl from the photograph he kept walks past him. In the next scene, the girl is sitting at Collingwood Monuent in Tynemouth, reading a book, the boy lead then walks up to her with the same book, she then smiles and walks away. The next scene is of the girl walking around a supermarket, as she turns to pick something up, the boy appears in her trolley, this is to add a sense of humour to our video. In the next scene, the boy is following the girl, without her noticing. After this, the scene shows the girl unclipping washing off the washing line, as she takes down a bed sheet, the boy is standing behind the sheet, the girl smiles at him then walks back into the house. In the next scene the girl is walking her dog and the boy is walking behind her. After this, it cuts to a day in the future, as the girl is standing at the metro she notices the boy on the opposite platform, as the metro goes past she stands, but when the metro disappears, he has gone, this shows the girl is starting to think about the boy, as she's starting to like him. The next scene is of the 3 girls as the each separately walk down the stairs at King Edward's beach. The scene then cuts to the girls sitting round a fire having fun, before the girl from the photograph notices the boy is there as he walks over, the girl then walks over to him and they kiss. The video ends with chinese lanterns going off into the sky.
